Methodist Hix Mills was born on January 24, 1878 in Johnson County, Texas to William Falkner Mills and Corah Jane Hix.

He married Juliana Edna [Last Name unknown].

They had the following children: Francis B Mills and Mary Sue Mills.

He died on December 9, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

M Hicks Mills, Attorney, Dies–

M Hicks Mills, 68, city attorney, 922 NW 16, and former county attorney for Greer County, died at 11:45 am in Hubbard Hospital. Mills suddenly became ill Friday night in his home and was admitted to the hospital early Saturday.

A native of Hillsboro TX, Mills was reared in Mangum. After receiving a degree in law from the University of Texas, he practiced law at Mangum and was county attorney there six years. Subsequently, he moved to Tulsa and practiced with the firm of Koplin and Jamison. Practicing there four years, he moved to Seminole and then to Wewoka.

He became partly inactive in practice when he came to Oklahoma City about nine years ago and did not maintain a downtown office.

A Knight of Pythias, he was a member of the Oklahoma State Bar Association, and St Luke’s Methodist Church. Services are pending at Smith & Kernke funeral home.

Mills is survived by his wife, Edna; a daughter, Mary Sue Gottschall of Los Angeles CA; a son, Lt Col Francis B Mills of Washington DC; a granddaughter, Cynthia Ann Mills of Washington DC; three brothers, J T and W S of Lubbock TX, W T of Karnask TX; and four sisters, Mrs J F Edleman, Mrs J B Robinson, and Mrs W T Hacker, all of Lubbock; and Mrs W B Brock of Long Beach CA.

Floyd W Mills was born on February 28, 1929 in Redlands, California to Vernon Curtis Mills.

He married Zelda M Pitt.

He died on November 19, 2007 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Floyd W. Mills Sr., 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park, with Chaplain Tricia McCarty officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Arlington Funeral Home.
Floyd was born in Redlands, Calif. He was a lifelong resident of Texas. He was a professional long distance truck driver for over 50 years. Floyd retired from trucking with 5 and a half million miles to his credit.
Survivors: Children, Allan Mills and Loretta Turner; sisters, Lucille Hubbard, Glenice Stewart and Susie McCory; brother, Charlie Mills; grandhildren, Tisha Steakley, Shane Turner, Kathy Antley and Jeffrey Mills; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Trevor Steakley, Abby, Chloe, Ethan and Lacey Turner, Dominic and Luca Mills-Patrick, Semaj Antley.

Daniel Bruce McClintock (1945-2014)

Daniel Bruce McClintock was born on January 26, 1945 in Kentucky to Robert Henry McClintock and Jeanette Guill.

He married Brenda Leblanc in 1968.

They were the parents of Paula McClintock, Sheila McClintock, and Dana McClintock.

He died on May 24, 2014 in Houma, Louisiana.

Daniel Bruce McClintock, 69, a native of Paducah, Kentucky, and resident of Lockport, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014.
Funeral services and burial will be Saturday in Wingo, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda Leblanc McClintock; daughters, Paula McClintock, Sheila McClintock, and Dana Morvant and husband, Kevin; and grandchildren, Lonnie Chiasson Jr., Brady Morvant, and Brooke Morvant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert McClintock Sr. and Jeannette McClintock; brother, Robert McClintock Jr.; and sister, Joy Nelson.
Daniel was a U.S. Army veteran.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland and Brown’s Funeral Home in Wingo, Kentucky, are in charge of arrangements.

Tennie Mae Lewis (1909-1933)

Tennie Mae Lewis was born on October 20, 1909 in Indian Territory to Fount Elzie Lewis and Lou Vennie Lee.

She married Clyde Joseph Faulkner on September 21, 1925 in Moffett, Oklahoma.

They were the parents of Audrey U Faulkner, Hershel Faulkner, and Margie Lou Faulkner.

She died on October 24, 1933 in Muldrow, Oklahoma.

 

 

The Sequoyah County Historical Society published “The History of Sequoyah County 1828-1975” in 1976. The following article was written by Ruby (Lewis) LaBass and printed on page 302.

LEWIS, FOUNT ELZIE

Fount Elzie Lewis was born January 23, 1883 at Lafayette, Tennessee. He came to Oklahoma when a young man and married Lou Vennie Lee of the Lee’s Chapel community, southeast of Muldrow. She was one-eighth Indian, a member of American Indian Federation 38-39. She was the daughter of Robert E Lee, a well known Cherokee descendant.

Elzie and Lou Vennie lived on an eighty acre farm, which they owned and farmed, close to Lee’s Chapel community. He also had a strip pit near Lee’s Chapel that he worked.

Mr and Mrs Lewis were the parents of ten children. They were Tennie Mae, Robert, Ruby Easter, EJ, Hubert, Ted and Fred (who were twins), Dorothy, Tom, and one who died in infancy.

Tennie Mae married Clyde Faulkner, the son of Mr and Mrs George Faulkner. There were four children born to them: Audrey, Margie Lou, Hershel, and Versa Okla.

Robert married Cassie Rogers, daughter of Charlie and Ella Rogers. They had six children: Fern, Carolyn, Bobby, Billy Ed, Buddy Don, and Freddie Patton.

Ruby married Ernest LaBass, son of Frank and Dovie LaBass. Three children were born to them: Donald Dale, June Faye, and Norma Ruth

EJ married Lillie Mae Ryan, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest Ryan. Two girls were born to them, Betty Lou and Mary Lee.

Hubert married Ora Lee Gilkey, daughter of Oscar and Melissa Gilkey. Four children were born: Loy Fern, Hubert Jr, Kenneth, and Barbara Jean.

Ted married Ruby Singleton, daughter of Tom and Mae Singleton. They had twelve children: Jimmy Ted, Tommy Fred, Judy, Linda, Donnie and Ronnie (who were twins), Lloyd Ray, Eddie Joe, Robert Lee, Jewel Faye, Jackie Dee and Dianna.

Fred married Alice Butterfield. They had four children: Shirley, Jerry, Larry and Vickie Jan.

Tom married Nora Mae Farmer, daughter of Lee and Mary Farmer. One child was born to them, Nora Jean.

Lou Vennie Lewis passed away at the age of 54, in 1942. Elzie passed away in 1964, at the age of 81.

Mrs Tennie Mae Faulkner
Mrs Tennie Mae Faulkner, 24 years old, passed away at her home in Muldrow Tuesday morning after an illness of about two weeks. Funeral service was held at the Lee’s Chapel cemetery. Wednesday afternoon with interment under the direction of the Moore Funeral Home.
Surviving are the husband, Clyde Faulkner and three children, Audrey 4 and Hershell 1 year old and an infant two weeks old, the parents, Mr and Mrs Elgie Lewis all of Muldrow.
Mrs Faulkner was a member of the Pentecostal church for the past three years.

Fred Junior Lee (1924-2007)

Fred Junior Lee was born on April 13, 1924 in Muldrow, Oklahoma to Fred Elmer Lee and Maggie Elizabeth Faulkner.

He married Edith M Bagley on February 5, 1944 in Muldrow, Oklahoma.

They were the parents of Marilyn Lee and Fred Duwayne Lee.

He died on April 5, 2007 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife, Edith of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Terry; one daughter-in-law, Dorliss; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, George, Raymond, Arthur, and Joe; five sisters, Patsy, Martha, Mary, Marilyn and Tennie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Fred Duwayne Lee in 1984, his parents, and three brothers, Robert, Jack, and Ronald Lee.

Susie Lee Keith was born on May 26, 1927 in Drumwright, Oklahoma to William Harvey Keith and Edna Mae Faulkner.

She died on July 3, 2003 in Muldrow, Oklahoma.

Ella Wese Hooker was born on September 9, 1927 in Lubbock Texas to Lambert Fern Hooker and Lillie Mae Leach.

She married Bobby Lester Bell on April 23, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas.

She died on December 19, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas.

Ella Wese Bell, 83, of Lubbock died Dec. 19, 2010. Services will be held on Dec. 22, 2010, in the South Plains Church of Christ at 2 p.m. with Jim Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Bell was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Lubbock to Lambert and Lillie (Pryor) Hooker and spent her entire life here. She married Bobby Bell on April 23, 1948, in Lubbock. She was a member of South Plains Church of Christ, worked as a beauty operator and was a loving housewife and mother.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bobby, of Lubbock; two sons, Danny Bell of Lubbock and Jimmy Ted Bell and wife Dina of La Grange, Texas; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ben Hooker of Euless, Texas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bender Terrace for their loving care and compassion.

Carnie Nelson Henderson (1916-2000)

Carnie Nelson Henderson was born on April 16, 1916 in Hickman County, Kentucky to Rufus Henderson and Susan Belle Clark.

He married Novella Butler.

He died on November 21, 2000 in Mayfield, Kentucky.

MAYFIELD, Ky.–Services for Carnie Nelson Henderson, 84, of Mayfield will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home of Mayfield. Michael Tucker will officiate. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery in Hickman County.

Mr. Henderson died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday at Mills Manor Nursing Home.

A native of Hickman County and an Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Henderson was a retired carpenter and member of the Carpenters Local Union 73 of St. Louis.

He was a member Northside Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Novella Henderson; one daughter, Marilyn Jones; two brothers, Lewis and Ira Henderson; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. His parents were Rufus and Susan Belle Clark Henderson.

George Wilson Guill (1918-2009)

George Wilson Guill was born on March 7, 1918 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Thomas Jefferson Guill and Minera B Bonifield.

He was the father of Georgeanne Guill, Jennifer Guill, Susan Alyce Guill, and Elizabeth Guill.

He died on February 11, 2009 in Stockbridge, Georgia.

George W. Guill
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Graveside service for George W. Guill, 90, Stockbridge, Ga., will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Ga., with the Rev. Brooks Everett officiating.

Mr. Guill died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009.

Inurnment is under direction of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, McDonough, Ga.

He was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to Thomas J. and Minervia Bonifield Guill. He served in the U.S. Army for 31 years during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Survivors include two daughters: Georgeanne Pardini, Dacula, Ga.; and Jennifer Thomas, Stockbridge, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two daughters: Susan Alyce Wheatly; and Elizabeth Guill, at birth.

Billy Guill was born in 1927 in Paducah, Kentucky to Raymond Shell Guill and Kanzady Hicks.

He married Gladys House.

They were the parents of Keith Guill, Cynthia Guill, and Angela Guill.

He died on December 27, 2015 in Paducah, Kentucky.

Billy Guill age 88 of Paducah passed away Sunday December 27 at 2:45 A.M. at his residence.

Mr. Guill was a native of Paducah and was a United States Army Veteran, and a retiree of Jackson Purchase Electric. He was a member of the Ohio Valley Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife, Gladys House Guill. One son, Keith Guill of Ledbetter, KY. Two daughters, Cynthia Stenbridge of Evansville, IN., and Angela Austin of Cave City, KY. Three step daughters, Donna Jones of Ledbetter, KY., Kathy Lynch of Benton, KY., and Sharon Armstrong of Lone Oak, KY. One sister, Louise Shelton of Paducah, KY., Three half sisters, Helen Miller, Bea Tapp, and Margaret Neihoff all of Lone Oak KY. Several Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Guill and Kanzady Hicks Guill.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Mitcheson officiating. Burial will follow in the Smithland Cemetery Smithland, KY. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. till funeral hour.
