Anna Elizabeth Butler was born on July 28, 1901 in Graves County, Kentucky to Samuel Dempsey Woodward Butler and Laura Dell Faulkner.

She married Carl Mikesell on March 8, 1923.

They were the parents of Harold Mikesell, Eugene Mikesell, Jerry Mikesell, Richard Mikesell, Raymond Mikesell, David Mikesell, and Delores Mikesell.

She died in St Louis, Missouri.
