Robert Francis Wooten was born in 1830 in Pitt County, North Carolina.

He married Matilda Jane Falkner on October 9, 1855 in Marshall County, Mississippi.

They were the parents of William Calvin Wooten, Mary Jane Wooten, Catherine A Wooten, Robert H Wooten, Edward Wooten, Julia Wooten, Griffin Wooten, and Wade Hampton Wooten.

He died in March 1885 in Wyatte, Mississippi.
