Mary Frances Armstrong was born on June 20, 1838 in Kentucky to John M Armstrong and Sarah Morris.

She married Martin VanBuren Mills on January 22, 1860 in Johnson County, Texas.

They had the following children Marinda Samantha Mills, John William Mills, Fannie Jane Mills, James Irwin Mills, David W Mills, Milton E Mills, Calvin Jackson Mills, Emma Mills, Thomas Madison Mills, and Marvin Bishop Mills.

She died on December 31, 1928 in Cleburne, Texas.
