Shelbyville, TN – John Wilton Wooten, 91, formerly of Nesbit, Mississsippi, went to a better life on July 16, 2016. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retiree of Spector Red Ball. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Juanita; three sons, Roy Wilton of Batesville, MS, James Harvey (wife, Diana), and John Calvin (wife, Mae), both of Memphis, TN; one daughter, Faye Lipford (husband, Jackie) of Shelbyville, TN; one brother, Raleigh Wooten of Chattanooga and one sister, Opal Wood of Starkville, MS; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Blanche Wooten, one brother, Perry, sisters, Nora Lee Boling and Annie Mae Kopf, grandson, Tony Wooten and daughter-in-law, Sue Wooten. Funeral Service: Wednesday, July 20 at 1 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home of Hernando with interment to follow in Fulmer Cemetery in Como, MS. Brantley Phillips Funeral Home.
